From Idea to Fruition…

It all started when…

Founder John (“Jack”) Parsell decided to go into business for himself…

He took his thirty years of product knowledge in the manufacturing industry and he invested in the notion that keeping companies machines running shouldn’t be the most expensive part of their business. Doing everything himself, Parsell worked tirelessly to provide support for a handful of customers, ensuring orders to specifications and making his delivery dates. Only when larger orders produced difficulties, did he call in the help of his family to make sure he met his deadlines.

Now, John has retired from the business, transferring Tooltec’s ownership to his stepson, Matthew Sprosty…

Matthew has a lifetime of experience in the manufacturing process. Since before he was ten years old, Matthew worked in his father’s plant for the family business of General Bag Corporation, a third generation paper potato bag manufacturing company. It was there Sprosty learned of the hard work and determination that happens on the manufacturing floor. Upon graduation from college, Matthew joined the sales force for General Bag, selling produce bags and boxes to farmers in the Eastern states.

When General Bag closed in 2008, Matthew found himself learning the fundamentals of business and management, while helping out Jack in the shop. It is in these years, Jack and Matt discussed their same guiding principles of keeping costs low for the customers in farming and manufacturing, and helping keep their machines running.

This principle is what started Tooltec LLC., and it is what will carry it into our future.
