Our Story

It all began when John “Jack” Parsell decided to take his 30 years of manufacturing experience and build something of his own. Believing that keeping a company’s machines running shouldn’t be the most expensive part of doing business, Jack started ToolTec LLC with a simple goal — provide high-quality tooling, deliver on time, and keep costs fair.

Working entirely on his own, Jack built relationships one order at a time — handling quotes, machining, and delivery personally to ensure every customer got exactly what they needed. As demand grew, he called in his family to help, keeping ToolTec’s promise of reliability and craftsmanship alive.

After decades of leadership, Jack passed the business to his stepson, Matthew Sprosty, who continues ToolTec’s legacy today.

Carrying the Legacy Forward

Matthew grew up in the manufacturing world. Before he was ten, he was working in his family’s General Bag Corporation, a third-generation paper bag company serving farms across the Eastern states. There, he learned the same values that define ToolTec today — hard work, precision, and integrity.

When General Bag closed in 2008, Matthew joined Jack at ToolTec, combining hands-on manufacturing knowledge with business management and sales experience. Together, they built a foundation based on a shared principle:
Keep the customer’s machines running — and keep their costs low.

That principle remains the heart of ToolTec LLC today, guiding every order we take and every part we make.
